In the framework of the Research Project entitled Towards a legal protection of the Future? Thinking the legal protection of Future Generations, the Lisbon Centre for Research in Public Law has organised an international conference to be held on the 19th and 20th of June at the School of Law.

This event was designed within the commitment made by the Research Centre, which recently signed a Memorandum that will be sent to the Secretary-General of the United Nations Organisation stating the intention of creating the debate on national and supranational institutional models for the protection of a sustainable future in social, economic and environmental matters.

The conference is supported by the Portuguese Parliament, the Portuguese Ombudsman, the Portuguese representation of UNESCO, the Portuguese National Youth Council, the Intergenerational Foundation (UK), the Foundation for the Rights of Future Generations (Germany), and the Conference “Model Institutions for a Sustainable Future” (Hungary). The newspaper “Diário Económico” is the conference’s media partner.

Caixa Geral de Depósitos and the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology are the sponsors of the event.
