Ana Soares Pinto holds an undergraduate degree in Law and a Masters degree in Juridical-Political Sciences from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon where she is currently developing her Doctorate. She specializes in European Law, Public International Law and Fundamental Rights. Her PhD thesis is on the the role of the Court of Justice of the European Union in the area of freedom, security and justice (AFSJ). She also holds a Certificate of Legal and Economic Higher Education of the European Union and is currently a doctoral candidatute at the Faculty where she also teaches as an Assistant Professor. Among her most recent publications we should highlight the following titles: 'A aplicação da tramitação prejudicial urgente no espaço de liberdade, segurança e justiça pelo Tribunal de Justiça', 'Acções privilegiadas («golden shares»), segurança pública e razões imperiosas de interesse geral' e 'Breves reflexões sobre as implicações do acórdão do Tribunal Europeu dos Direitos do Homem, M. S. S., no espaço de liberdade, segurança e justiça'.
