Perfil Biográfico

Marisa dos Reis has completed an undergraduate degree in Law at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa and, after working as a deputy district prosecutor attorney in Portugal, she finished her Research Master's thesis entitled “Direito Internacional, Direitos Humanos e Justiça Intergeracional - A protecção jurídica das gerações futuras" ("International Law, Human Rights and Intergenerational Justice – the legal protection of future generations") at the University of Lisbon School of Law. Marisa Quaresma dos Reis has also worked as a research fellow at the Foundation for the Rights of Future Generations (FRFG). and was the Project Leader and one of the speakers at an international conference entitled "Ways of Legally Implement Intergenerational Justice" as well as the editor of the IGJR (Intergenerational Justice Review) on the same topic. In May, 2011, the European Commission awarded Marisa dos Reis together with FRFG a certificate for an outstanding project in the field. She has published abroad and has participated as a speaker in several international conferences. Currently she is a researcher for the Portuguese National Foundation for Science and Technology and is writing her PhD thesis on the legal protection of future generations at the University of Lisbon School of Law. She is also a member of the Editorial Board of IGJR.
